Lisa Loeb loves her mom’s cardigan

Grammy Award-winning singer Lisa Loeb shares her favorite hand-me-down in our new column

We all have a favorite hand-me-down. Mine is my vintage faux leopard coat, which is disintegrating at this point. Hand-me-downs have deep meaning, because wrapped in our affection for the item is our esteem for the person who gave it to us. And, as a nice bonus, hand-me-downs are an environmentally responsible fashion choice. So we’ll be spotlighting beloved hand-me-downs as part of our style and entertainment coverage going forward.

You may know Lisa Loeb from her 1994 hit, “Stay (I Missed You),” or her signature glasses, which you can buy here. She also won a 2018 Grammy for her 2016 Children’s Album Feel What U Feel, which is based on her own childhood and her life as a parent. She also actually has a song called “Hand Me Downs.” Loeb shares this about her favorite hand-me-down:

I love this sweater. It’s the best of all worlds. It’s my mom’s cashmere cardigan from when she was a teenager. It’s the perfect size, a little retro because it’s actually from one of my favorite eras, and it has my mom’s name sewn into the tag so I think of her every time I wear it.  Sometimes I wear it when I’m with her and that’s totally fun too!”

Loeb’s latest album, Lullaby Girl,  is streaming exclusively through Amazon Music Unlimited and Prime Music, and available for purchase at Amazon Music.
